At the helm of Muy Caliente Sportfishing Tamarindo CR is Captain Max “Maxito” Campos, a passionate and experienced fisherman whose love for the sea began at a young age. Inspired by his older brother, Max grew up surrounded by waves and fishing lines, joining him every day at his “office” — a fishing boat in Tamarindo. Since then, he has dedicated his life to navigating the Pacific waters of Costa Rica, whether on fishing boats or catamarans, always sharing his passion for the ocean with others. After years of experience working alongside one of Tamarindo’s most respected captains, Max now leads his own crew aboard the Muy Caliente, ready to take you to the best fishing spots from Tamarindo to Langosta and beyond. His goal is simple: to offer you an unforgettable day at sea filled with excitement, safety, and great memories.
By his side is Francisco “Nacho” Alejandro Meza Llanes, first mate and expert sailor with more than 14 years of experience. His love for fishing began at the age of nine with his grandfather, who taught him the art of the trade. Over the years, Nacho has refined his skills through numerous trainings and countless days at sea, both as a sailor and as a captain. His dedication and professionalism ensure that every guest aboard the Muy Caliente enjoys world-class service, expert guidance, and the thrill of reeling in the catch of a lifetime.
Together, Captain Max and First Mate Nacho form a dynamic, passionate team committed to providing the ultimate sportfishing adventure in Tamarindo. Their knowledge, energy, and love for the sea guarantee that every experience aboard the Muy Caliente is truly one to remember.
